2023 has seen several ups-and-downs for the Butte Irish, but the team closed out the calendar year with a weekend sweep at Yellowstone Quake on New Years Eve. Goals by Toby Kerr, Corbin Breen, Andrew Browe and Weston Villers powered the Irish to the 4-2 victory while goaltender Braylon Rogers stopped 47 shots to even his season record to 7-7.
Patrick Crooks was the offensive star on Saturday night. His hat trick helped Butte to a 5-2 win. Noah Williamson and William Takla also scored for the Irish. Rogers made 31 saves in net. His GAA now at 3.71 with a .921 save% are both career bests for the third year netminder.
Up next for the Butte Irish (11-18-0-0) is a weekend series hosting the Great Falls Americans (16-12-0-0) who currently hold the fourth and final playoff spot in the NA3HL Frontier Division. Great Falls have won three of four head-to-head meetings so far this season.
