Friday was a special night for the Butte Cobras (18-15-1-1) who are in a fight for third place in the NA3HL Frontier Division. Great Falls American, the team chasing Butte in the standings, was in town for the lone game of the weekend. A packed crowd was at Butte Community Ice Arena to witness an overtime thriller with the Cobras coming out on top 4-3.
Caelin Chinery and Patrick Crooks each scored twice to power the offense while Nikolai Wallery earned the win coming off the bench stopping every shot he faced.
The Cobras now trail third place Sheridan Hawks (19-14-2-0) by just two points. The two teams go head-to-head four more times this season.
