Butte Cobras met the Missoula Jr. Bruins for the second time this season Friday night in NA3HL action. Missoula won the first meeting 9-0 on October 31, pounding 63 shots on net that night. Goaltender Tommy Near played all 60 minutes of that game making 54 saves in the loss.
Flash forward to December 11: the Cobras have a revamped lineup and despite just three points in the standings, have been competitive in nearly every game in the past month.
Playing in a near empty Butte Community Ice Arena the Bruins scored twice in the second and seemed in control after 39 minutes of play. Then the Cobras grabbed some momentum when Nick Bradshaw lit the lamp with just :19 remaining making it 2-1.
Recently acquired from Atlanta Capitals, Jed Morone made his presence known scoring at 1:36 of the third to even the score 2-2.
Kylar Garsjo then scored a pair of powerplay goals midway through the final frame to propel the home team to victory, just their second of the season.
