2021 has arrived and the Butte Cobras regular season rolls on. After 23 games played the Cobras (3-19-1-0) have seven points in the standings, a stat the team would like to see grow over the next two months.
Wins and losses alone do not tell the tale of this Butte squad who were struggling to keep the opponents from double-digit scores early in the season. A road trip to Sheridan in October resulted in the Cobras being outscored 39-1 in a pair of losses.
Butte won their first game of the season on November 25 in dramatic fashion defeating Bozeman 6-5 in overtime. The following night the team earned a point in an overtime loss at Great Falls.
Tonight the Missoula Jr. Bruins (12-6-2-0) are in town for round five of the season series. Both teams have won twice so far and the Cobras hope to kick of the new year with another victory.
Butte are coming off a New Years Eve lose at Great Falls 7-0 to close 2020 on a three-game losing streak .

It was a competitive first 20 minutes before the Americans offense came to life over the final two frames in which they put 53 shots on goaltender Skyler Coard who finished with 60 saves in the game.
A better effort will be expected tonight at the Butte Community Ice Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 PM and can be seen live on HockeyTV https://www.hockeytv.com/game/930826.
