Opening a season with 10-straight losses is tough for any team to deal with and the young Butte Cobras are no exception. The team has seen steady improvement every week and nearly got that elusive win last Friday in Gillette.

Trailing 3-1 after one period Nick Bradshaw scored twice for Butte to even things at 3-3. The host Wild would respond with a pair of goals before intermission though to retake a two-goal advantage into the third.
The Cobras showed no quit this night though as Jadyn Hofacker made it 5-4 when he netted his first Junior goal at 3:14. A product of the Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy program, Hofacker is just 17 years old. He was one of four players selected in the 2020 NA3HL Draft.
Butte continued to put pressure on the Gillette netminder Luc Haggitt who stopped 13 of 14 shots in the final period to help his team win 8-4.
A road trip to Cody, Wyoming awaits the Cobras this weekend to face the Yellowstone Quake (3-9-0-0) who are in the middle of an eight-game homestand.
Last weekend Yellowstone was swept by Great Falls Americans who outscored the host 16-5 in two games.
Game one is scheduled for Saturday night at Ridley Arena where the teams will meet again on Sunday afternoon. Both games will stream live on HockeyTV.
